Reconcile your publication record
Gather the DOI or other stable identifier, exact title, author list, journal and publication date for each work. Distinguish published articles, accepted manuscripts, preprints and ongoing work. A record should not present a submission as a publication.
Review ORCID and database profiles
Check name variants, affiliations and linked works. Identify duplicates or misattributed papers and use the database’s correction process. You retain account access and decide what information is public. Connecting accounts should use the platform’s authorization controls.
Describe contribution and experience accurately
A CV or research statement should explain your actual role in collaborative work, methods used and documented outputs. Keep evidence of genuine peer-review service and scholarly activities. Do not infer institutional endorsement from an affiliation or invent reviewer appointments.
Plan maintenance around milestones
Review your records after a new publication, affiliation change or correction. Save a dated publication list and reconcile it with the source records. Career or immigration applications may use research evidence, but eligibility and legal strategy require the appropriate qualified adviser.
Scope, files and delivery
Start with a short project brief. We assess the work, discuss the expertise required and confirm the deliverables, fee, schedule and included revisions in writing. Share the current version and the instructions that govern it. Additional data, a new target journal or a substantially changed brief may require a revised scope. You review the proposed changes and retain responsibility for the research.
