Identify the paper that the evidence supports
List the questions answered by the project, the available results and the audience. A thesis chapter may need a narrower argument to become an article. Avoid dividing a study into overlapping papers without a clear scientific reason and appropriate disclosure.
Build a section-by-section outline
For each section, identify its purpose, supporting evidence and open questions. Decide what belongs in the main text, a table, a figure or supplementary material. Keep the abstract provisional until the manuscript’s conclusions are settled.
Coordinate coauthors and milestones
Agree responsibility for technical decisions, drafting, data checks and final approval. Use one controlled version and a decision log to prevent contradictory revisions. A workable schedule includes time for all authors to read the submission version.
Plan submission and later revisions
Choose a journal on fit and verified requirements, identify a fallback option and allow time for independent editorial decisions. Short preparation deadlines cannot guarantee short peer review. We can help organize cover letters, reviewer responses and final proof checks as separate stages.
Scope, files and delivery
Start with a short project brief. We assess the work, discuss the expertise required and confirm the deliverables, fee, schedule and included revisions in writing. Share the current version and the instructions that govern it. Additional data, a new target journal or a substantially changed brief may require a revised scope. You review the proposed changes and retain responsibility for the research.
